(Maddie Cain: 60 +49 = 109 - Maddie played with our team as an extra - not officially in the tournament. However, had she been "official", her score would have been used as a top 4 in the total!)
It was a great day for West Side Golf! Sophomore Lydia Essert stepped up into a leadership role as our team medalist! She kept her focus throughout the long day and posted her best 18-hole score yet! She was cool and calm as she dominated the course!
Sophomore Sam Dudley pulled together HER best 18-hole round also, refusing to give in to tough breaks here and there!
Sophomore Sam Nuss continued her consistency and leadership with her scoring, contributing to our top scorers.
Freshman Maddie Cain, from the JV team, joined our team as an extra to see what a varsity match would be like. She played so well that, had she been officially in the tourney, her score would have helped to improve our overall team score! She pulled together the 2nd best score for our team on the back nine!
Placing 4th in this tourney was a huge accomplishment! We are so proud of the effort and improvements this Oak Hills team is making!

A win for Oak Hills!!
What a challenging course! And Oak Hills Varsity Girls played GREAT!
Sophomores Sam Nuss & Sam Dudley led the charge with scores in the 40's (Nuss was our team medalist!)!
The take-away from the day was a great story that unfolded...
The last several matches, we've lost, even though the girls keep improving. We lost to 2 particular teams recently that we really could have beaten. However, when we played against them, their team has had "the best round of their season." In tonight's match, Talawanda hosted at their home course, a course they've played numerous times throughout the season. Their coach shared that the lowest team score they've had at this course was 208. Tonight, they scored 185! Absolutely unheard of for them! Our Oak Hills girls discussed this after the match and all agreed on the same conclusion - Oak Hills girls are happy to bring out the best in others by making them feel comfortable out on the course. They'd rather do this than bring home a win. While this might not help our stats, it's better than a win ANY day! These are GOOD girls who are well-liked by other teams and really DO bring out the best in others! Oak Hills can keep up with ANY other team, while being encouraging and kind to all! Those are lifelong skills learned through education-based athletics! #highlanderstrong

Sophomore Lydia Essert shot her personal best at this particular course, shooting significantly better than her current average!
