Lebanon
This was a trying week for a large portion of our team. The fatigue of the new school year is upon us and many boys fell victim to a virus that made its way around our squad. The guys enjoyed pointing fingers at the suspected initial carriers of the ailment, but the fact remains that the easiest cure is give your bodies a chance to recover: eat, SLEEP, hydrate. Despite these struggles, our team managed a total of 11 lifetime bests on Saturday! The competition was much more intense than last week and our varsity team finished 7th/20 and the JV guys were 6th/17. The only way we will remain on this upward trend is to keep up with the constantly mounting stressors of life. We have to listen to our bodies when they cry out for rest and recovery. It is tough to keep up with a rigorous academic load and still get 7-8 hours of sleep per night, but planning your week out ahead of time will make it possible.
Athletes of the Week
Varsity: Everett Black- Everett has battled through a challenging last couple weeks of running, but didn't let that set back define his ability. He showed up huge for the team on Saturday, breaking 18 minutes and finishing 4th for the team.
JV: Benjamin McKee- Benjamin made a huge improvement from last week in performance, due to his confidence in himself. He ran a lifetime best of 19:04 while competing at the front of the JV race.
