August 9, 2019
On Tuesday, August 6, our varsity girls played in their first 18-hole tournament of the season. They golfed amongst 18 other area schools at the challenging and beautiful Walden Ponds.
Our girls were determined and did a fantastic job, beating Fairfield, Colerain and Mt. Notre Dame. We came VERY close to beating Loveland and were able to keep up with the others. At the end of the day, we placed 15th in the tournament, but this is a great improvement from last season. Our girls were matched up with Kings, who took 4th place and our girls were competitive with their girls.
Sophomore Sam Nuss was our team medalist again. She's worked extra hard throughout the off season and it all seemed to come together in this tourney!
Freshman Lucy Rankin was our next best scorer - an incredible feat for our only freshman on Varsity.
Sam Dudley and Lydia Essert had a great, consistent round.
Our team captain, Lily Lang had her very first BIRDIE and even chipped one into the hole from about 25 feet out!
180-hole score for Oak Hills: 429
Sam Nuss: 98
Lucy Rankin: 105
Sam Dudley: 112
Lydia Essert: 114
Lily Lang: 136
