The boys varsity basketball team went up against Lakota West on Tuesday. Right off the start the Highlanders gained an early 18-5 lead at the end of the first. The team played great defense and made many hustle plays finishing off Lakota West with a 62-35 win. The Highlanders had a hot shooting night shooting 54% from the field and 40% from three. Zach Moeller lead in scoring with 20 points on 7-8 shooting from the field and also had 4 steals. Kelen Dietrich put up 14 points, and grabbed 4 rebounds. The Highlanders outrebounded the Firebirds 30-20 with help from Grant Rembold grabbing 3 offensive rebounds and Jacob Berkemeier grabbing 6 total rebounds. The Highlanders are back on Friday, February 1, at Fairfield.
