GMC Recap
As we entered the post season this week, our guys showed that their months of preparation and sacrifice have been worth it. We had many great performances at GMC; a good affirmation that progress has been happening, since we have had a couple questionable weeks of abysmal conditions. One of our topics of discussion this year has been that progress doesn't have a linear or predictable outcome in the short term. It takes a strong mental fortitude and a trusting athlete to keep to the path. We have two more weeks of practice before our final guaranteed meet of the season. Keep up the good work!
Congrats to the following athletes who earned All-GMC honors:
- 1st Team- Owen Huff
- 2nd Team- Eric Dew
- 2nd Team- Matt Doherty
- 2nd Team- Colin Klaserner
Athletes of the Week
Varsity
Eric Dew- Senior captain Eric Dew has been a defining member of our program. Understanding how to draw the line between work and play, never complaining, and leading by example are just some of the ways that Eric has helped to leave a positive mark on our team. Eric earned 2nd team All-GMC honors at the GMC championships on Saturday. This is the third time that Eric has earned All-GMC honors.
JV
August Foland- August is one of our elected captains. As a leader, he has helped the coaches with team communication and modeling dedication to the team. His consistency at practice and in races has made him a runner that his teammates can depend on.

Our week off from racing this upcoming Saturday is a strange occurrence this year, due to scheduling conflicts outside of our control. In order to keep our bodies on the same routine, we will be running a 1600m time trial at the high school track on Saturday.
